How to get on #bdsm-Texas

To access #bdsm-Texas, you must first have an IRC client installed.  The most popular program used for this is MIRC.  These instructions will show you how to download and set up MIRC to access #bdsm-Texas.

1. Go to http://www.mirc.com and download MIRC software, then install the software on your computer.
   
2. Start the MIRC software.
   
3. You may get a box showing that this is unregistered software.  After using the software for 30 days, please consider registering it.  Registration is not required, but it helps the developer justify continuing to upgrade and improve it.  Close this box.
   
4. A box showing MIRC options should appear.  The first time you run the software, you will need to fill out information in this box.  After this, it should automatically remember your options.  Click "Add."  In the Description field, type Bondage.Com.  In the IRC Server field type irc.bondage.com then click the "Add" button.
   
5. On the left hand side, you will see a list of categories.  Click on "Identd."  A new window will appear.  Check the "Enable Identd server" box.  Type in a short user name in the User ID field.  It does not have to be your real user ID.
   
6. In the list of categories, click on "Connect."  Type in a short description or name in the "Full Name" field.  Type in an e-mail address in the "Email Address" field.  Choose a nick name and enter it into the "NickName" field.  Nicknames do not include spaces.  Enter an alternate nick name in the "Alternative" field.
   
7. Now, click on the "Connect to IRC Server" button.
   
8. A window showing MIRC channels will pop up.  I recommend highlighting all but one of these and deleting them.  Then click on "Add."  Put #bdsm-Texas/Oklahoma in the channel name field then click the "OK" button.  Now, delete the other MIRC channel so that you only have #bdsm-Texas/Oklahoma listed.
   
9. Now, you can select the #bdsm-Texas/Oklahoma channel and click the "Join" button to go directly to the channel.
